Logistic and Warehousing industry is a vital component to Malaysia’s economic performance as it provides the backbone to facilitate international trade. According to World Bank Logistics Performance Index Report, the industry was ranked 29th in 2012 and moved to 25th ranking in 2014. To further improve the development of the industry as well the country’s economy, the Services Sector Blueprint and Logistics and Trade Facilitation Masterplan had been launch in 2015.
The Plan was formulated to provide strategic direction to increase economic efficiency and stimulate exports. The criteria such as strategic location of the country, regional relationship networking and good transportation infrastructure as well as economic stability have given Malaysia a huge potential as a regional logistics hub.
