PUTRAJAYA International Convention Centre (PICC)

PUTRAJAYA International Convention Centre (PICC) is one of the most exclusive destinations for meetings and conventions in Malaysia.

PICC is the main convention centre in Putrajaya and the largest in Malaysia. It hosts a wide range of events, functions and corporate meetings involving governmental officials. It is also frequently used to organise both formal and informal events.

PICC offers world-class facilities with plenty of venues, functionality, state-of-the-art facilities and international-level service and support teams. Through it all, it retains its distinctly Malaysian warmth and charm.

Located atop a hill and astride a shimmering lake, PICC delivers a dramatic 360° view of Putrajaya, Malaysia’s showcase city.

PICC was the first convention centre to be awarded the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Best Practices Award by Asean in 2007.

It won Best Congress and Convention Centre, Asia for business destinations in the Travel Awards 2012 and was also the winner for Best Brands in Services – Convention Centre by Asia Pacific Brand Foundation (APBF) at the BrandLaureate Awards 2013 – 2014. It also won the International Quality Crown (IQC) 2014 for Gold Category.

PICC comprises 49 discrete venues with 1.3 million sq ft of usable space on nine levels of conference space – Plenary Hall, Perdana Hall (Banquet), Head of States Hall, two multi-purpose halls, 10 conference halls, four meeting rooms, exhibition booths with a 500-strong capacity and a 3m by 3m sq booth, three viewing decks and 14 suites.

Its facilities include a number of exhibition halls, meeting rooms, conference rooms, lounges, banquet halls, galleries, two restaurants, shopping outlets and a basement carpark with 1,200 parking spaces.

The circular building incorporates an internal garden behind glass walls so that you can enjoy the beauty of the garden without the glare of the heat.

It provides up-to-date facilities such as wireless LAN, wireless simultaneous interpretation system, video conferencing, provisions for television broadcast and coverage, a holographic rear projection system, video and billboard messaging facilities and event management, and audio/video tie-ins with a live telecast option.

PICC chief executive officer Badlishah Ahmad said key international target markets are regional markets, Europe and the Asian region.

“We can comfortably accommodate mega events of up to 8,000 delegates,” said Badlishah.

“Other facilities at PICC are a Plenary Hall for 2,800 delegates, a banquet hall for 2,500 people, two multi-function halls, 10 conference rooms and a VVIP lounge.”

PICC’s business centre offers Internet and Wi-Fi services, printing services, facsimile, binding, laminating and other document finishing services, as well as paper, PICC souvenirs, phone charging and locker luggage.

PICC patrons can also stop by to pick up or use the services at the Business Centre located at the Concourse Level.

The PICC building is designed as a natural fit for the MICE industry. It strives to manage local and international seminars and conferences in the country.
