Expo Negaraku 2017

About 500,000 people are expected to turn up at the Expo Negaraku 2017 exhibition to be held at Dataran Merdeka from Nov 15 to Dec 15.

Initiated by the Economic Planning Unit (EPU), the expo will showcase the government’s efforts to develop state-of-art infrastructure and carry out development projects for the people.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan said the exhibition is aimed at letting Malaysians and others know and appreciate the government’s commitment towards providing better livelihood for Malaysians.

“Though we have organised similar expo before, this will be out first large scale exhibition.

“The expo is open to everyone, from all walks of life. We want the public to experience and at the same time enjoy an interactive event with their families and friends.

“There are plenty of highlights and activities being lined up at the event.”

The exhibition will be open from 10am to 10pm and entry is free of charge.

He said Dataran Merdeka was chosen as the venue due to its strategic location and accessibilility to public transport.

Rahman explained that the exhibition would be divided into five domes to represent the principles of Rukun Negara.

He said each dome will narrate the progress of country’s infrastructure.

THE upcoming Pet Expo – Cat Edition (also known as Ekspo Kucing), the largest feline-related exhibition in Malaysia is targetting to attract 15,000 visitors over a three-day period.

The expo, organised by Murni Ekspo Sdn Bhd, from Sept 29 to Oct 1 will take place at the Matrade Exhibition & Convention Centre (MECC), Kuala Lumpur.

Ekspo Kucing will feature 120 booths and showcase more than 500 cat species, cat-related products and services in the market today.

One of the event’s main highlights is the Largest FIFE International Cat Competition, co-organised with Kelab Kucing Malaysia.

Sponsored by BritCare, Wahre Liebe, Carnilove and Pronature, the competition will involve 480 contestants over a two-day period, said Murni Ekspo managing director Sherman Yeong.

Cat lovers can look forward to attractive prices and promotions on cat food as well as as beds, collars, toys, treats, cages, clothing, food and water bowls, and accessories.

Some major brands participating in the show are Royal Canin, Nature’s Protection, Snappy Tom, Equilibrio, Blackwood and Nutri Edge.

The three-day event will also feature other pets such as rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, reptiles and exotic animals. Visitors will also have a chance to see an alpaca and others animals by Farm in the City.

The event will also feature an adoption drive, small animal display, exotic pet competition, petting zoo, seminar and lucky draw.

The entrance fee to the exhibition is RM5. (Children below 12 FREE)
